October 2-6

Welcome back, y’all!

We are going to get into Othello starting today which will allow us to bring rhetorical analysis back in after we get some of the play out of the way. I love this play. I love the way it uses language. Rhetoric is one of the main characters, metaphorically speaking.

Today: Black Men and Public Space by Brent Staples. Read and SoapsTone.

HW: finish vocab by 11:59pm tonight. Read pages 1-3 of the Othello packet {I will provide printed copies tomorrow; there were copier issues this morning].
